Serious rain tonight. Like extra buckets of cats and dogs. Toads are having a field day along the lanes outside, marching over the asphalt after every drowning worm or hapless insect. At the train station commuters lined up three deep for the taxies or waited for family members to pick them up while the glow of cell phones lit up their faces. The rain has been rollercoastering all month, like a great sopping wing, stooping down upon us earthly denizens with wind-lashed feathers of spray.
